Junk Book Store KL

I mean, stop complaining that Kuala Lumpur is boring and there's no where to go.

The truth is, there are tonnes of hidden gems in the city that we don't know or don't bother to know. We have a lot of choices to spend our weekend, in a way full of surprises besides shopping.

I saw Junk Book Store on the newspaper last year and felt sad. Why didn't I hear bout you earlier!! Second hand book stores are so charming. Every book here has a story and these places usually are full of surprises! Limited edition books, vintage treasures, old magazines... I'm obsessed.

Trust me, these photos don't do justice... the real situation there is very overwhelming.

And then we walked for a while from Jalan Tun H S Lee (where the book store was located) to Jalan Sultan. This is another place that I've heard so many times and wanted to go - The Petaling Street Art House. It has a collection of vintage Chinese antiques and a strong ambience of the past generations. Not only it is a small museum of our heritage and culture, it is in fact a performance theater. From time to time there are performances here, showcasing some of our valuable performance art.

Petaling Street Art House is located on the front part of the floor, at the back it's the famous Coffee Amo - a comfy cozy place to enjoy freshly-brewed coffee and cakes. Oh look at those bears!

I feel proud. I got this Jane Austen's Mansfield Park from the Junk Book Store. It has a old cloth cover and vintage prints. And it was printed in 1964, which is exactly 50 years ago. There's no other better way to fill up and calm my soul than reading. A good old Austen's classic never fails to make my day.

Start exploring , you'll be surprised.
